| Editorial Reviews:
Product Description The Apple Wireless Keyboard has been completely redesigned, inside and out. It features an elegant, ultra-thin anodized aluminum enclosure with low-profile keys that provide crisp, responsive feel. It also has function keys for one-touch access to a variety of Mac features such as screen brightness, volume, eject, play/pause, fast-forward and rewind, Expose, and Dashboard. Its compact design fits on your lap or on even the most crowded desk. And its Bluetooth wireless technology lets you use it just about anywhere within 30 feet of your Mac.The keyboard automatically powers down when you're not using it and turns on instantly as soon as you start typing. This intelligent power management means you'll get up to nine months of battery life based on average usage patterns. It also has an on/off switch for when you're away from your computer for a long time.

Great Keyboard in every aspect February 17, 2010 Walter Cordova (Guayaquil, Ecuador (South America)) Apple products are a little expensive but they are worth it. It looks very elegant. Save a lot of space. Was very fast to setup. It has long range, I even use it to play Guitar Hero on my Macbook Pro and use it as a real guitar. The reason I needed the keyboard was to protect my Macbook Pro at work from stains when you use the keybaord for a long time, my wrist and part of my arms sweat because of the heat. Also, if you use a watch or bracelets you might scratch it. The best thing abouthe keyboard is the battery life. I use the keyboar about 50 hours a week and the batteries that came in with the keyboard have lasted for more than 5 months!
Some erratic battery readings, but that won't stop me from loving this guy February 5, 2010 R. Crawford (Indiana) I never thought I would love a keyboard or even find one to be particularly appealing as I do this one. Having become accustomed to its small size, all 'regular' keyboards now seem irritatingly, superfluously large. I like the metal finish; it feels sturdy. This is also my first wireless keyboard, and it is surprisingly almost as pleasing as moving to a wireless mouse--very much so! Death to all wires!
My one bad experience: the battery level reading has been fluctuating between below 20% and above 40% for the past several days, and I've only had the keyboard for about a month. I move the keyboard around quite often--perhaps the batteries are not making good contact with the sensor to give a proper reading? Nevertheless, the batteries seem to be lasting far below the advertised up-to-9 months. But if it costs a pair of AA's a month to operate this talented lad and further liberate me from oppression by wires, then so be it!
I've changed the batteries and will update when I see if the battery life fares any better. Take note of Microsoft's new Arc keyboard--it looks suspiciously like a poor man's imitation of the Apple wireless keyboard.
My Apple brethren, we will never be suppressed! Steve Jobs, Our Great Leader, lead us well in this new era of rule!
Great Wireless Keyboard by Apple December 21, 2009 D. Nolt (New Holland, PA, USA) Great Wireless Keyboard by Apple that works well with my Mac Mini and was easy to setup. Used the first set of batterys for about 3 months.
A stylish and high quality wireless keyboard December 2, 2009 buru buru piggu (New York, NY USA) I've had this keyboard for over 2 years and it still my favorite out of all the dozens of wired and wireless keyboards I've tried in my lifetime. As with nearly all Apple products, it's a masterful union of style and functionality. It looks great and works great. Build quality is excellent, with a beautiful metal housing that is designed for looks as well as durability. It really stands out from the sea of black plastic keyboards out there. A pleasant little green dot lights up when on, but is totally hidden when off. Made of anodized aluminum, it's got a matte, frosty texture. It's very light and portable, as well as being more environmentally friendly since aluminum can be recycled when this product reaches the end of its usable life.
The keys lie almost flat against the surface of the keyboard and may take a little getting used to at first because they don't "clack". After using it for a few days though, I now prefer this tactile response. It's got a different spring feel to it and is very quiet.
No wires means I can work and sit the way I want to, instead of being constrained to the length of the keyboard cord. I often have it on my lap because this position eliminates shoulder strain by having my arms rest at a neutral position instead of being elevated on a desk.
Because it is Bluetooth, I can put this anywhere and not worry about dangerous wires to trip over or having to face the computer directly (or even be in the same room). Bluetooth does not need line of sight and I've never had a problem with a weak signal or interference, unlike some of the Kensington wireless keyboards I've tested. This keyboard also works with the PlayStation 3 and Bluetooth-enabled Windows machines like my Acer laptop. Sometimes I pair the keyboard with my PS3 when I'm playing games online.
The only con I can think of is that a full-sized version is not available. I use this mostly at home and would like to have the number pad and usual set of keys on the right 1/3 of the keyboard. This version uses 3 AA batteries. A newer version of the Apple Wireless Keyboard (Retail Packaging) requires only 2 AA batteries.
capslock key sometimes does not indicate the correct position October 31, 2009 Paul C. Huang (Arcadia, CA) This is the old version, which requires three AA batteries. The new one introduced on 10/20/09 uses only two AA batteries.
This keyboard is a good companion if your MacBook Pro (pre-unibody) is causing pains in your neck.
MacBook Pro (pre 10/14/2008) has a serious problem: it does not tilt back far enough. As a result, tall users or individuals with long torsos would have to raise the computer to a comfortable level to view the screen. This is when the wireless keyboard comes in handy. The small footprint--at the expense of removed numeric keypad--allows you to move the mouse closer to the keyboard, which alleviates finger/wrist/shoulder pains.
Those who don't mind having a USB cable dangling around may choose the USB version, which is identical except the addition of two USB ports on both sides/below the keyboard.
The only complaint I have is that the capslock key sometimes glow and sometimes does not. Its annoying. The only way to find out whether the caps are locks is through typing.
