Great amatuer photographer backpack November 26, 2008 R. Bantug This is a great backpack. It has everything that I need. The removable/adjustable compartments are really good because they're super tough to take on & off, which is great so that the items its holding are secure. The opening on the backside is a great idea for security purposes, but the straps get in the way sometimes. I guess it would take some getting used to. I am very pleased with my purchase, but if I had a chance to go back and redo my purchase, I probably would go with the 300 for the bigger space. Overall, I think it was a good purchase for me & I'm satisfied.
a little small September 30, 2008 Dustin Morris The bag construction is solid. However, it is small and bulky - Sticks out about 8 inches from your back. I could fit my D40 with 55-200MM lense and an extra 18-55mm lense, along with extra cards, batteries, and lens cleaning items. the camera doesnt fit in as you would hope, it almost feels like you're putting pressure against the side due to the formation of the bag. I purchased this bag for a trip, but decided against bringing it. I use it more for storage of equipment rather than use to carry around. It's not a bad bag, just not my preference. Hope this helps.
compact and light weight August 16, 2008 john- NJ (new jersey United States) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I've been looking for a smaller/narrow compact camera bag that would not bulk me down while traveling, the lowepro flipside 200 really fits that job. I also looked at the flipside 300 but you are really boarderline onto the larger bags which would defeat the whole idea of going light...I can fit in the 200 flipside my Nikon D300 with a nikon 70-200mm attached, extra lens..nikon 17-55mm,50mm 1.4 and YES! I can even squeeze in a Nikon D70s body with all of the above (remove the accessory zipper bag)..you can mix up the lens to see what fits...i find this to suite my needs for traveling light. I like the waist strap feature which allows you to keep the backpack hinged on your waist (swing the bag around in front of you) giving you a full two hand access to the inside of the bag. The backside zipper access is a great idea..I don't have to be concerned as to who's in back of me in public places...no zipper access from the back! The bag is also very well designed and quality made...I own other Lowepro products only because after all my research I keep coming back to a Lowepro bag. either the 200 or 300 flipside...recommended.
Great bag for world travel! August 1, 2008 C. Sams (Edmond, OK USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I was a little concerned this backpack wouldn't be what I needed when I ordered it, but after receiving the bag and using it the next week on a trip to the other side of the world, it performed wonderfully. The security of the bag is top notch, I was never concerned that someone could unzip the bag, even when traveling on the subway or crowded city streets at night. The bag is very durable and comfortable, even during long treks. I was surprised how much I used the ability to slide the bag around your waist and zip it open to grab your camera on-the-fly. It worked very well! It was great to be able to quickly change lenses and not have to find a place to set stuff down. Everyone around me thought the bag was very cool for that reason. The bag is built very well and well worth the money in my opinion. I used the bag in all conditions (rain, shine, dust, etc...) and for my carry-on bag during air travel as well. I was very happy with it's performance in all situations (while I would not consider this backpack "waterproof", it would take an extended downpour to make me worry about my camera.). I was able to fit a Nikon D40 w/18-55mm lens, 55-200mm lens, memory cards and reader, spare battery and charger, iPod w/earbuds and even some snacks and essentials for travel. It was tight, but it worked out great. The LowePro flipside 200 is a secure, well designed bag that will protect and organize your gear and enable you to have fast access to what you need all without ever having to let the bag touch the ground. Great design LowePro, thanks!
Does the job properly June 20, 2008 B. Little (Hamden CT, USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I just spent 10 days in England and Scotland wearing this to hold my Nikon and 8mm DVR.
I found it perfect. The zipper sits against your back and is covered by a flap all the way around...no fears in a crowd or subway. I can't tell you the number of times I felt someone jostling me in a crowd, with no fear that my camera was being stolen.
I endured pouring rain while hiking the Borders, my cameras stayed dry. I could whip it open in seconds and the zipper never got caught once. I'm not sure why people get so passionate about criticizing this bag...it's simply a great little backpack. I took off the waist belt however..thought it looked a little too goofy.
