3 out of 5 stars Crashes Sometimes   September 21, 2008
Galomorro (San Francisco, CA USA)
I used to have a Scrabble game for my Mac but when I upgraded the old game didn't work. After several years I decided to buy a new Scrabble, updated for my current OS X. Since the game I bought was from 2007, I expected it to work fine. It usually does, but sometimes it also crashes. I'm using Safari. There's also a strange little thing that happened once so far that I remember used to happen with the old version I had -- so apparently this time I must have bought one from the very same maker. What happened was towards the end of a game, I was creating a two-letter word. I tried three different words, with a "u" twice, and with an "e" once, and each of these times a message came up saying in effect that the letters weren't lined up properly, as in I didn't have them positioned down or up. I DID have them lined up normally, and it then dawned on me that I used to have this problem occasionally with the older version. So as when the game crashed, I was obliged to once again quit the game and start over. Other than these two things, I have no other complaints.

4 out of 5 stars Scrabble practice   September 15, 2008
Platteach (Plattsmouth, NE USA)
I ordered this game after being humiliated playing Scrabble with friends. It has provided good practice and allows you to play at various levels of skill. I find it a little too tempting to use the Hint function. Usually the words that the Hint function comes up with are words that nobody except Merrium Webster has ever heard of.

5 out of 5 stars Beware - Can be ADDICTIVE!!   September 1, 2008

I LOVE Scrabble! I have had as many as 6 different types of the game - travel editions to deluxe and I really love the computerized version with a handy embedded dictionary and the ability to play alone or with a friend or with a computerized opponent of the level you choose! I have been broadening my skills and vocabulary with every game! I highly recommend this game for word lovers - this Mac version is superb. I had an older one that I liked - but this one is the cat's pajamas!

5 out of 5 stars Compared To What ???   July 26, 2008

I'm a little confused by reviews here that unfavorably compare this Mac version of Scrabble to other Scrabble games. I personally find this to be an excellent rendition of the classic word game. My wife has two PC versions of Scrabble and I like this one better than both of them. I suppose it may be all in what you get used to. This one works perfectly well on my Macbook and I really, really like it !

5 out of 5 stars What Great Fun   July 4, 2008

I love words games and of course, Scrabble is the King of word games. I love the different levels of opponent. Most of all I like playing Scrabble when I feel like it, by myself.
